Born in Belgrade, Zoran Todorovich has gained international recognition in the lirico-spinto repertoire and has appeared in such leading theaters as the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Staatsoper Berlin, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Wiener Staatsoper, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, Theatre Royale de la Monnaie in Brussels, Theatre du Capitole in Toulouse, Semperoper Dresden, San Francisco Opera, Los Angeles Opera and New National Opera Tokyo, as well as at the Bregenz Festival, Macerata Festival and Taormina Festival.
In the 2016/17 season, Todorovich made his successful stage debut as the title role in a new production of Otello at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Düsseldorf, where he will later reprise the role of Calaf in Turandot. He will also sing Giuseppe Hagenbach in La Wally at the Teatro Comunale di Modena, Teatro Municipale di Piacenza and Teatro Municipale di Reggio Emilia. Future engagements include Otello in Bogota, Eléazar in La Juive and the title role in Lohengrin at the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp, as well as solo concerts in Spain, Germany and Japan.
In the 2015/16 season, Todorovich debuted at the Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires as Florestan in Fidelio, sang Calaf at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein and toured Japan as Pollione in Norma alongside Edita Gruberova. Engagements from the 2014/15 season included Lancelot in the new production of Le Roi Arthus at the Opéra National de Paris under Philippe Jordan, Dick Johnson in the new production of La fanciulla del West at the Opernhaus Zürich under Marco Armiliato and Deutsche Oper Berlin, Don José in Carmen at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein, Ruggero in La Rondine at the Israeli Opera in Tel Aviv alongside Angela Gheorghiu (with whom he sang a gala concert in Baden-Baden), and Don Alvaro in La forza del destino in Tokyo.
In the 2013/14 season, Todorovich added a new Verdi role to his repertoire, appearing as Radames in Aida at the Opera de Marseille. He also sang Florestan in Liège, Otello in concert in Antwerp, Guido Bardi in Una tragedia fiorentina at the Teatro Regio di Torino, and Canio in Pagliacci in Moscow and Düsseldorf. Engagements from the 2012/13 season included his debut at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona as Don Alvaro, Turiddu in Cavalleria rusticana and Canio at the Opernhaus Zürich, Dick Johnson at the Opéra de Monte-Carlo under Pinchas Steinberg, and the title role in Parsifal in Luxembourg and at the Vlaamse Opera in Antwerp and Gent.
Highlights from previous seasons include his debut at the Opéra Bastille in Paris as Don Alvaro, his first performance of Jean in Massenet’s Herodiade in Gent and Antwerp, the title role in Andrea Chenier at the Grand Théâtre de Genève (where he achieved a great success as Manrico in Il Trovatore in 2009), his return to the Teatro Massimo di Palermo as Dick Johnson and his return to the Bayerische Staatsoper as Pollione opposite Edita Gruberova, with whom he was also partnered for Roberto Devereux in concert in Warsaw. In 2009, Todorovich sang his first Wagnerian role, the title role in Lohengrin, to great acclaim at the Teatro Massimo di Palermo.
